Tutoring & Consulting
“What's your desired outcome?" - Falcons saying, used often
1:1 Tutoring
Though all called “tutoring” this Falcons offering can take many forms. For some it is the traditional “meet with a teacher for an hour a week to work on a specific subject” arrangement, either remedially or proactively. For others it is a collaborative advisory experience as student and teacher work together to craft an exploration plan that meets the student’s schooling needs and interests. A few students even tutor without meetings, submitting written work for written feedback and receiving their teaching through a penpal arrangement. Some tutoring students are homeschoolers, while others are enrolled in school.
If your child has an interest, struggle, or other learning need, reach out, and we can explore together what tutoring arrangement might best fit them.
Cost:
$60/hr for students enrolled in tutoring only, $50/hr for students enrolled in another Falcons program.
Group Tutoring
Sometimes it’s most fun to learn with others! If multiple students want to study the same thing, or want to craft their own learning path in company, sometimes they buddy up into tutoring groups. As with 1:1 tutoring, these can take a wide variety of forms to meet a wide variety of needs, so reach out, start a conversation, and together we can cook up something good.
Cost:
TBD based on format and number of students.
Homeschool Consulting
First time homeschool caregivers sometimes liken the experience to jumping into deep water. Seasoned homeschool parents talk of swimming with strong currents. Whatever phase of the homeschool journey you are in, sometimes it’s nice to have a hand, and a second brain helping you keep up with your glorious child.
With decades of knowledge of curricula, home/learning dynamics, and growing humans, teachers in Falcons have usually seen what you are puzzling over before, and can walk with you in making a plan you- and your learner - are excited about. This can be as simple as curriculum recommendations and resource referrals, or can turn into curriculum design and collaborative planning for how to structure your student’s learning life. Homeschooling is all about meeting student needs creatively - and sometimes their caregivers need a bit of that, too!
Cost:
$60/hr for students enrolled in tutoring only, $50/hr for students enrolled in another Falcons program.
